It is that time of year when all members should be sanctioned through their league by now. If you are not yet sanctioned, please do so as soon as possible. You are required to be sanctioned to participate in the prize fund in our tournaments. It is a stipulation stated in our bylaws to be a member in good standing. If you are not listed as sanctioned on Bowl.com you may be asked for proof that you have paid for your sanction and awaiting your card. It is really hard to accommodate sanctioning at our tournaments, so I encourage you to accomplish this before our next tournament. If for some reason you can't find anyone to submit a sanction for you, you are welcome to come and bowl but you do not pay into the prize fund and are not eligible to win it.

Super Irving Buzzards have done it again! There’s a lot to be proud of and everyone should give themselves a big round of applause!

First off we were recipients of three plaques from the Annual Tournament. The following people received plaques: Jeff Visger and Tamara Feuchtwagner received first place for doubles; Brandon Vines received first place for men’s all events; and Marla Martin, your proud secretary, won queen buzzards (after all, isn’t that what made this club to begin with?).

Secondly, we had four, yes four, new members join our club in October! Monty and Norma Crabb qualified at Spartime in Arlington and were brought in by Harmon Atkins. Sherry Holloway also joined the flock, and she qualified at Sparetime as well.Neta Nuckles qualified at US Bowl and was brought in by Sue Banfield. Welcome one and all! We hope you enjoyed yourself and will continue to see you at future tournaments.

Tommy Howard and Debbie Stults were our guests at our October tournament. Come on guests, we’re waiting for you to qualify so you can join the flock permanently.

Santa

As you all know, we will be going shopping for the Salvation Army for our Charity project this year. Stayed tune for more details to come in the November newsletter. Sue will have the sign up sheets and all the details at our November Meeting.

The Nominating Committee was formed last month and is busy contacting our members in search of people to run for office. Who will be our next board? If you been a buzzard member in good standing for one full year, you can run for office. You must be very versed in excel and word to run for Secretary or Treasurer.

The Rules Committee was selected last month and presented the changes. Changes were discussed and will be voted on at our November meeting.

The Party Committee was selected. Kay Lester will chair the committee with Reese Howard and Dena Buffington helping her.

It’s time to raise some money for our Chapter. Bring items to auction off at our November Tournament because we’re going to have a Silent Auction! You can put a minimum amount of money on the sheet, if you so wish. One hundred dollars of the money raised will go to the Charity Fund. We will revote on where the balance will go once we know the exact amount.

Shhh! Ok, everybody, bring your gifts to the November tournament. It’s Silent Auction time. Bring as many gifts as you want. You will have the option to put a minimum bid on the item(s) you bring. Bring your money, bid on one or all the gifts! It is sure to be a fun time as it has always been in the past. If you don’t believe me, just ask Billie and Bobbie.
