OCTOBER 2004 VOLUME XXXXIII ISSUE 10
Hello Fellow Buzzards: I don’t have a lot to talk about this month but I would like to mention that Oscar Schobel had surgery on his right shoulder and he is doing fine. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and hopefully he will be back stronger than ever. That’s really it for this month, so on with bowling!!!
Minutes of Meeting:
Arlen opened the meeting and presented the treasurer’s report which passed. Two new member applications were voted on and also passed. Arlen reminded the club that the sanction cards are due by November 1st and stated the importance of getting those done in time so the club can justify that all members are sanctioned and therefore be sanctioned for tournament play. Arlen announced the results from The Annual Tournament in Tyler and passed out the money won (these will be listed later in the newsletter) and also one award to Martha Warnken for the most splits in the tournament. The members voted on which two houses and hotel would host our Tournament and decided to stay with the original schedule. Nothing else was brought up so the meeting was adjourned.
Attendance: We had 56 Buzzards at the gathering in September, two that didn’t bowl and one pacer. We have had good turn outs in the last few months and hopefully we can keep it up. Hope to see all of you on OCTOBER 3rd @ MAX BOWL NORTH LANES 2390 WILSON ROAD in HUMBLE (281-540-2800). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins AT 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. We are bowling 4 to a lane and if additional lanes are not available, Jackie will fill in additional bowlers. (REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS, AS THIS IS HOW JACKIE AND DENNIS PAY OFF THE WINNERS.)
HAVE A SAFE AND BOOTIFUL HALLOWEEN
