Hello Fellow Buzzards: I hope everyone had a nice Valentines’ Day. Mine was good considering I was in Vegas. I heard that John Rugg, Sr. had knee replacement surgery and that he is recovering just fine, which is good news. I plan on having a meeting with all the Tournament Committees in the near future and should be able to report to the club the results of that meeting very soon. That’s it for now, so on with bowling!!!
Minutes of Meeting:
Arlen opened the meeting and presented the treasurer’s report which passed. Five new member applications were voted on and also passed. Arlen mentioned to the club, again, that the membership dues are to be paid in February or you will not be entitled to any prize winnings or be allowed to enter the brackets or pins over average. The entry forms for the Annual Buzzard Tournament to be held in Houston this year are at the printers and will be available at the March gathering. Bruce Koenig and his committee are still working on the welcome packages and he has asked if anyone would like to help to please contact him. All other committees will be meeting to finalize preparation for the tournament. Dennis informed the club that Mike Holland, proprietor of Del Mar Lanes, was inducted into the Houston Bowling Hall of Fame. Dennis also reported on the Buzzard members who placed in the 31st Annual Houston Senior Mixed Tournament (more on both of these two items to follow). Nothing else was brought up so the meeting was adjourned.
Attendance: We had 63 Buzzards at the gathering in February, nine that didn’t bowl and 4 pacers. We have had good turn outs in the last few months and hopefully we can keep it up. Hope to see all of you on MARCH 6th @ AMF DIAMOND LANES 267 N. FOREST BLVD. (281-440-9166). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins at 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. (REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS)
Bowling Reminder:
Full names are to be put on the re-cap sheets each month. Also, make sure that the total number of splits and your games are totaled before you sign at the end of the three games. If you re-qualify, please make a note on the re-cap sheet and you can receive a Buzzard pin for $ 2.00 and be entered for the “THREE – IN – A- ROW “ roll-off in January. Also you must be signed up by 1:30 the day of our gathering. Late arrivals are not encouraged.
