FOUNDED OCT 1961- ORGANIZED MAY 1963 FOUNDER - THOMAS E. WALTERS, JR
CHIEF BUZZARD ARLEN DEASON

"Let there be no strangers in the BUZZARD CLUB - Only friends that have yet to meet"

Hello Fellow Buzzards:

Well, I think that ole’ groundhog spotted his shadow so I guess there is only 6 more weeks of winter. That’s good ‘cause I’m ready for some warm weather. Maybe my bowling will get better when it gets hotter. Be prepared with your tournament information. The applications should be arriving soon and we need to get those filled out as soon as possible. June is the deadline and it will be here before you know it. Don’t forget to pick up the door prize ticket when you sign up. That’s it for now, so on with bowling!!!

Minutes of Meeting:

Arlen opened the meeting and Barbara presented the Treasurer’s report which passed. Three new applications were voted on and also passed. Arlen mentioned to the members that the tournament in Tyler is still on but this year it will be a 4-day tournament starting on August 12th and running until August 15th. This is necessary since there is only one house that will be used for the entire tournament. Concerning our tournament, Arlen asked that everyone start thinking about a “catchy phrase” that has to do with bowling and also will rhyme with 2005. When you think of something, please send those to me so I can forward them on. Nothing else was brought up so the meeting was adjourned.

Attendance:

We had 46 Buzzards at the gathering in January, 34 of which attended the meeting, 2 that did not bowl and 4 pacers. We have had good turn outs in the last few months and hopefully we can keep it up. Hope to see all of you on MARCH 7TH @ MEADOWCREEK LANES 2930 S. RICHEY (713-946-9090). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins AT 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. We are bowling 4 to a lane and if additional lanes are not available, Jackie will fill in additional bowlers. (REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS, AS THIS IS HOW JACKIE AND DENNIS PAY OFF THE WINNERS.)
