MARCH 2002                  NEWSLETTER                 VOLUME XXXXI             ISSUE 3

HELLO BUZZARDS:

Well I hope ya'll like this new format. It should make it easier to read and I can add a few things to it a lot better and hopefully make it a little bit more interesting. If I include something in the newsletter that is incorrect or if I forget something, please send me an e-mail and I will get it corrected by next month. Also, if anyone has any announcement they want the club to know about, let me know and I will post it on the announcement page. Also, I would like to thank everyone that has given me support and offered to help. This shows me that we really are a "FAMILY". Okay, now on with bowling

Minutes of Meeting on 2/3: Arlen opened discussion on the newsletter. Everyone was happy to see things getting off in the right direction. Ken discussed planned changes for the letter and hoped everyone would be pleased. The cookbook sale was brought up and discussed and a motion was made by Nick Carter to table all previous motions regarding the cookbook until such a time that a committee can report findings at a later meeting. It was seconded and passed. Finally, Arlen informed the chapter about the troubles that the Irving chapter is having. He will be going to Irving to meet with them and will report back with the results at the next meeting. It was brought up that if for some reason Irving could not do the annual tournament, would the Houston chapter be willing to do it. All agreed that we could and would.

Just a side note: Of the 61 people that bowled with us on 2/3, only 35 showed up at the meeting. Concern was given that there should be more attendance in future meetings for the benefit of the club.

We had 59 buzzards and 2 pacers that bowled in February. Hope to see all of you this month on MARCH 3 @ BUNKER HILL LANES 925 BUNKER HILL ROAD 713-461-1207. The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins AT 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. (In the event the meeting ends early we may start bowling a little early…so be signed up and ready). We are bowling 4 to a lane and if additional lanes are not available, Jackie will fill in additional bowlers. (REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS AS THIS IS HOW JACKIE AND DENNIS PAY OFF THE WINNERS.)
