JULY 2004 VOLUME XXXXIII ISSUE 7
Hello Fellow Buzzards: Well, I don’t have a whole lot to say this month so I’ll make it short and sweet. I had a nice vacation in Vegas and it was nice to get away from everything for awhile. I didn’t loose all my money so that made it even better. I am really looking forward to next year. I was informed that Max Bowl West was shut down so our monthly gathering in July will be held at Del Mar instead. I have included a couple of items from June that I was not able to put into last month’s newsletter. If I leave out a birthday or anniversary or if the dates are wrong, please let me know so I can get that changed. That’s it for now, so on with bowling!!!
Minutes of Meeting:
Since I was not at the gathering, I don’t know what the meeting was about. I do have a couple of things of importance that I will let you know about. Carl Sontag has congenital heart failure and he was to have a catheterization on May 24th. Also, his wife Rose Mary has numerous malignant cancer spots. She was to have a cat scan the same week Carl was to have his catheterization to determine where, if possible, to do treatment or operation. I have not heard anythng else but I will pass along any information as soon as I find out. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Attendance: We had 64 Buzzards at the gathering in June with five pacers and 2 members that did not bowl. We have had good turn outs in the last few months and hopefully we can keep it up. Hope to see all of you on JULY 11th @ DEL MAR LANES 3020 MANGUM (713-682-2506). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins AT 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. We are bowling 4 to a lane and if additional lanes are not available, Jackie will fill in additional bowlers. (REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS, AS THIS IS HOW JACKIE AND DENNIS PAY OFF THE WINNERS.)
Trivia: In what country is the world’s largest bowling center and how many lanes does it have?
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH OF JULY
