CHIEF BUZZARD ARLEN DEASON

"Let there be no strangers in the BUZZARD CLUB - Only friends that have yet to meet"

Hello Fellow Buzzards:

Well, summer is upon us and the weather is getting hot. Hopefully everyone's bowling will too. In fact, it looks like a few of you have gotten hot already. My injury is almost healed and I should be able to bowl with everyone again. All I have to say is I'm Baaaaack!!! I don't really have a lot to talk about this month, so I guess I'll just stop with all the chitchat and get down to business. Now on with the bowling!!!!

Minutes of Meeting:

Arlen opened the meeting stating to the club that he hopes to see a large turnout at the tournament and dinner dance in Irving. With all the smiles in the room, I'm sure there will be. There were no new applications to vote on and little to discuss so the meeting was ended.

Attendance:

We had 54 buzzards that bowled plus 3 buzzard that did not bowl in June. Of those 57 members, we had 36 in the meeting. Hope to see all of you this month on JULY 7 @ MAX BOWL WEST 1710 HILLENDAHL (713-932-8594). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins AT 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. (In the event the meeting ends early we may start bowling a little early…so be signed up and ready). We are bowling 4 to a lane and if additional lanes are not available, Jackie will fill in additional bowlers. REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS, AS THIS IS HOW JACKIE AND DENNIS PAY OFF THE WINNERS.)

Trivia

In the famous comic strip "Peanuts," what nickname did Snoopy use while bowling?

Have a happy and safe July 4th!!!!

Tournament News: We have a total of 15 teams going to the tournament in Irving and 51 members are going to the dinner/dance. This is fewer teams then we normally have going but hopefully next year we will have a few more involved. Jackie and Barbara want to thank everyone for turning in all the applications on time and completed as necessary with verifications of averages when needed. It made it a lot easier for them to get everything done and turned in a timely manner.
