Hello Fellow Buzzards: It has come to my attention that there are a few of you that have not paid your dues for 2005. Just a friendly reminder that those of you who have not paid by the February gathering, will not receive a newsletter until you do. Also, there are a few of you who have not shown Jackie your Sanction card. Please show them this month or the same will apply to those people. Concerning the February gathering, it has been moved due to a prior commitment by Del Mar. It will now be held on the 13th of February instead of the 6th. That’s it for now, so on with bowling!!!
Minutes of Meeting:
Arlen opened the meeting and Barbara presented the treasurer’s report which passed. One new member application was voted on and also passed. Arlen mentioned to the club the concern about showing the sanction cards everytime we bowled and he said he would try to work something out so we won’t have to. The King and Queen Buzzard trophys were passed out and Dennis informed the club that with the merge of the WIBC and ABC the new name is now the United States Bowling Congress. Nothing else was brought up so the meeting was adjourned.
Attendance: We had 57 Buzzards at the gathering in January, three that didn’t bowl and 3 pacers. We have had good turn outs in the last few months and hopefully we can keep it up. Hope to see all of you on FEBRUARY 13th @ DEL MAR LANES 3020 MANGUM (713-682-2506). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins at 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. (REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS)
Bowling Reminder:
Full names are to be put on the re-cap sheets each month. Also, make sure that the total number of splits and your games are totaled before you sign at the end of the three games. If you re-qualify, please make a note on the re-cap sheet and you can receive a Buzzard pin for $ 2.00 and be entered for the “THREE – IN – A- ROW “ roll-off in January. Also you must be signed up by 1:30 the day of our gathering. Late arrivals are not encouraged.

Sanction Card Reminders: As was stated in the last few newsletters, those that have not shown their 2004–2005 Sanction card to Jackie by the January meet would not be qualified to win in the pay-offs. Rules that USBC require, is that a member is not considered in good standing if dues are not paid nor Sanction cards are not shown to verify they are paid for. Each month she is required to send names of all the winners. Each year she has to keep asking that members show their cards to her. Our Buzzard Club sanction begins in January each year. If she doesn’t have your co-operation as asked for, she has no choice but to deny your winning in pay-offs. February will definitely be the last time to show your card to her. Dues Deadline: Dues are to be paid to Barbara by February 13th. She must have them either mailed and received by her on that date or paid at the gathering.
