DECEMBER 1999 NEWSLETTER VOLUME XXXVIII ISSUE 18
Hello Buzzards:
We had another great turnout with 70 Buzzards, 5 which did not bowl and 2 Pacers at the November
event. We urge everyone to come and enjoy the fun and fellowship created by the club.
We will bowl December 5th at Dynamic Lanes, 6121 Tarnef (713-772-1063). Bowling begins at 2 P.M.
Please sign up with Jackie by 1:30 P.M. and don't forget to get a door prize ticket from
Terrance. Our meeting starts at 1 P.M. (In the event our meeting ends early, we may begin bowling
before 2 P.M.) Please remember only four (4) bowlers to a lane. If we are not permitted to have
additional lanes, Jackie will let you know so that five (5) can bowl per lane. We voted several months
ago to only have 4 per lane except in uncontrollable conditions. This allows everyone to get finished
at about the same time.
The 3-In-A-Row Roll Off will be held on December 5th. Those who re-qualified with 3 In-A-Row and
paid Ellie will be in the roll off. The lucky participants will be: Martin Smith, John Harper, Bette
Kelley, Nadine Underwood, Martha Warnken, Richard Alcorta, Angela Alcorta, Oscar Schobel,
Melanie Brubeck, Carol Angeli, Becky Havely, Linda Knighton, John Rugg Sr., and Alan Long.
You must be there and bowl to be eligible for the prize $$.

Attendance awards or $5.00 each were won by Callie Moss & Len Ferguson, Jr. Judie Cauthen won
the 50/50 pot of $100.00.
We approved two (2) new members at the November meeting. We welcome Ron McAfee and Jamie
Martinez. Please come join us for a fun afternoon of bowling soon! Your spouse or friend may come
and bowl with us as a pacer for $8.00. Who knows...they might even qualify as well.
Please remember to give your sanction numbers to Jackie as soon as you get it. This is an extreme
must in order for us to continue our sanction with ABC/WIBC. Since the numbers issued to us last year
are not going to change, she needs to see the new cards by January 2000 to make sure that everyone
is current with the sanction dues.
We discussed briefly the cookbook. Beth has already been given some recipes and a few suggestions
for a title. The money raised will be used for the annual tournament when we host it again. We urge
all men and women to submit their favorite recipes. Bring them to the events each month and give
them to Beth. We are just now starting this and it will take some time. This will be such fun and if you
would like to help organize and work on this with Beth please let her know. A couple of Buzzardettes
have raised a wing to volunteer. Thanks Martha and Sandy
but we will need more.

ALSO BRING TOYS FOR TOTS
Jackie has asked that all re-caps be turned in to her. Some are leaving them on the lanes or tables
and she is afraid the cleaning crews might throw them away before she realizes she is missing some.
She will not be responsible for them if they are not turned in to her or they are missing.
