FOUNDED OCT 1961- ORGANIZED MAY 1963 FOUNDER - THOMAS E. WALTERS, JR
CHIEF BUZZARD ARLEN DEASON

"Let there be no strangers in the BUZZARD CLUB - Only friends that have yet to meet"

Hello Fellow Buzzards:

I have a couple of things this to mention this month. For those of you who did not attend last month’s gathering, we will be holding our annual Buzzard Christmas party this month at Del Mar on the 5th of December. The meat will be provided but everyone is asked to bring a dish consisting of either a vegatable, salad or dessert. We will eat as soon as everyone has finished bowling. Also, if you would like to give a toy that will be donated to the womens shelter for distribution to needy children, you can bring it to the party and label the gift boy or girl. That’s really it for this month, so on with bowling!!!

Minutes of Meeting:

Arlen opened the meeting and presented the treasurer’s report which passed. Five new member applications were voted on and also passed. Arlen mentioned to the members that from now on, if the applications are not filled in completely, they will not be accepted. He also mentioned that when signing up new members to be sure and inform them about dues that need to be paid to the end of the year.

The Nominating Committee suggested to keep the current officers but if a member wants to nominate someone from the floor, they may do so at December’s meeting. Nothing else was brought up so the meeting was adjourned.

Attendance:

We had 40 Buzzards at the gathering in November and three that didn’t bowl. We have had good turn outs in the last few months and hopefully we can keep it up. Hope to see all of you on DECEMBER 5th @ DEL MAR LANES 3020 MANGUM (713-682-2506). The meeting this month begins at 12 noon and bowling begins at 1pm. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 12:30.(REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS)

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

Nominating & Rules Committees: The following buzzards volunteered for the Nominating Committee: Butch Castellese, Donna Castellese & Judie Deason. The Rules Committee will consist of the following buzzards: Gayle Miller, Bruce Koenig, Dennis Davis & Serge Scharf.

Note from Jackie: This is the last month to show your sanction card. Starting in December, if your card has not been shown, you will not qualify for any high scores or King/Queen for most splits

Message from Dennis: The Special Olympics Local Area Bowling Tournament will be held on Saturday, December 4th at Copperfield Bowl and AMF Windfern Lanes. There are two shift times. One is from 7:30am to 12 noon and the other is from 11:30am to 4:30 pm. You can call the centers to see what shift is at their center. As always, volunteers are needed but if you can not volunteer try to come out and support these athletes – both young and old – you will be surprised.

Note from Arlen: This message is not intended to any one person or to any one group, but to all our members. It is unfortunate that everyone in the club does not have a Buzzard shirt. With the cost, which the officers are working on, so high it is unreasonable to expect each one of us to have one. But we do have an official Buzzard club shirt design. With this in mind, no one is allowed to design their own or sell any shirt that is not approved by the Board and members. If anyone has a shirt that does not conform with the specifications as listed in our Bylaws and Constitution, please refrain from wearing such shirts at Buzzard club functions.
