CHIEF BUZZARD ARLEN DEASON

"Let there be no strangers in the BUZZARD CLUB - Only friends that have yet to meet"

Hello Fellow Buzzards:

Well, it sure was nice to bowl again. I thought at first I may have forgotten how but then again like the saying goes once you learn to ride a bike, it comes naturally. I would like to let everyone know that I do appreciate all the help I am getting in updating my lists. If everything goes right I should have all my lists updated shortly and won’t have to bother with all this again. If I miss you on your birthday or anniversary month, please let me know and I will get it corrected for the next year. I hope everyone had an enjoyable July 4th holiday and by the amount of members at the last gathering, it appeared as if some were not through with their mini vacations. Hopefully we will have a few more members at the next gathering after the tournament is over. I guess that’s about all for now, so let’s get on with the bowling!!!!

Minutes of Meeting:

Arlen opened the meeting with the treasurer’s report and after it passed, he mentioned that the confirmation dates for the tournament had been received and wanted everyone to check to make sure they were listed and the times were correct. (More on this will follow on the announcement page). He also informed the club that we have 15 teams that will be entered and he appreciated the showing our club will have. At the time of this writing, there was one ticket available for the banquet. There were no new applications to vote on and little else to discuss so the meeting was ended.

Attendance:

We had 47 buzzards that bowled plus 3 buzzard that did not bowl and 2 pacers in July. Of those 47 members, we had 31 in the meeting. Hope to see all of you this month on AUGUST 11 @ AMF WEST HOUSTON LANES 19936 SAUMS IN KATY (713-682-2506). The meeting begins at 1PM and bowling begins AT 2 PM. Everyone must be signed up to bowl by 1:30. (In the event the meeting ends early we may start bowling a little early…so be signed up and ready). We are bowling 4 to a lane and if additional lanes are not available, Jackie will fill in additional bowlers. REMEMBER TO PAY CASH ONLY FOR YOUR BOWLING AND BRACKETS, AS THIS IS HOW JACKIE AND DENNIS PAY OFF THE WINNERS.)

Trivia

What was the name of the pinball machine made by the Bally Company in 1960 based on the game of bowling?
